Shastri urges FM to release sufficient funds for employees, pensioners

Jammu, Apr 15: Expressing deep concern over the financial crunch in treasuries, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the Finance Minister to release sufficient funds through money transfer (M.T) to all treasuries to overcome the difficulties faced by State Govt. employees in general and pensioners in particular.
In a memorandum sent to Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, Shastri pointed out that despite the State Govt. releasing funds, the treasuries of State Govt. without cash and salary bills have piled up with treasuries adding that class fourth employees of the state Government particularly Gardeners and other categories are worst suffers due to nonpayment of salaries.
He said that when grants already stand released under salary head, he said and adding that non disbursement of salary fixed income group employees causing lot of financial problems. Shastri urged him to take serious note of financial crunch and finding solution to this problems in one go. Shastri hopes that state Govt. would release sufficient funds for the early disbursement of salary and pending all bills.
Pleading the cause of State Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri however reiterated the demand for release of 6% DA due from January 2015 in favour of state Government employees and pensioners as has been released by the Central as well as other state governments to their employees and pensioners, hoping that the state Govt., should also release the same installment of DA without any further delay as the budgetary provision for the purpose has already been kept by the state Govt. in 2015-16 budget.
Creation of separate head in each Department of the State Govt. for the regularly disbursement of monthly salary of Daily Wager Workers, amendment in SRO 64 and enhancement of medical allowance to Rs.1000/- per month were other demands highlighted in the memorandum. A copy of the memorandum has also been sent to Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary Finance for their intervention into the matter.
