Extension Lectures organized

Mendhar, Apr15: The Department of Arabic in collaboration with Sociology Department organized a series of Extension Lectures to foster better understanding about some of the importance and thought provoking subjects, and promote teaching learning process through audio- visual means.
The programme was commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by Yusuf Jafri , Student of B.A Part 1st. Principal of the college Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah presided over the function to give it due decorum.
The first Extension Lecture was delivered by Prof. Mohd. Akram (HoD Education) with the help of power point presentation on "The wonders of memory" in which he gave a detailed description about memory, its various components and types, forgetness and its causes, and the practical approach to improve one's memory.
He meanwhile answered the queries posed by the audience regarding the subject. The Second Extension Lecture was presented by Prof. Javaid Iqbal (HoD Sociology) on "Panchayat Raj institution "in which he discussed the History, origin, structure, phases and features of Panchayat Raj system and its role at the village , district and state level.
The last Extension Lecture was delivered by Dr. Firdous Nazir (HoD Arabic) with the help of power point presentation on the "Concept of God and its evidence in the light of Quran, Science, logic and rationality".
Stress management lecture held

Jammu, Apr 15: An interactive lecture on stress management was organized by Govt College for Women (GCW), Parade in collaboration with Art of Living of Foundation.
Principal of the College, Dr Hemla Aggarwal, members of Art of Living Foundation, students and faculty members were present on this occasion.
The speaker of first session, Rohit Ranjan, seamlessly conducted a distressing session. He informed the students about how to be successful in life without taking stress. "Success in life depends upon one's attitude and enthusiasm, he said and underlined the importance of concentration especially in studies. Another speaker of the session, Ms Carlo also shared her experiences, and advised the students to attend the basic course of Art of Living.
In second session Sumit Yadav interacted with the students and informed them about soft skills and domain knowledge.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by Prof Sonia Khajuria.
Deputation meets Deputy Chief Engineer NR

UDHAMPUR, Apr 15: Requesting construction of road of about 700 meter, a deputation of villagers Chak Railway Station and Bal Nagar, Kambal Danga, Thathi and Dhanu areas called upon Dy Chief Engineer Northern Railway Department Udhampur.
Briefing media about the meeting with Deputy Chief Engineer, Pritam Singh who led the deputation said that the Dy Chief Enginner assured them the matter would be taken up with higher authority. "We often meet railway authority about their demands but authorities only gave assurance that after completing the railway track, they will also complete remaining portion of the road, but after completion of track, they forgotten their promises", he told media. He further said that if their demands would not meet, they would intensify agitation against the Railway authorities.
