Jammu, Apr 15: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) under the supervision of Dy. Controller Enforcement VS Sambyal today fined Rs. 2.26 Lakhs to erring traders at Akhnoor.
According to press release, the team comprising of Inspectors of Legal Metrology Jammu (U) M Khateeb and Rohit Gupta, Inspector Akhnoor have conducted checking of the traders dealing with commodities of daily use in the areas of Akhnoor, Talab Tillo, Paloura , Durga Nagar, Janipur, Kanji house, Gumat and Subash Nagar Rehari in which 15 traders were detected violating the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir weights and measures enforcing Act, 1997 and rules made there under.
The department has appealed to the trading community to display the rate-lists of commodities of daily use in their trading premises prominently for the benefit of common man.
In a surprise inspection conducted in the premises of Best Price Paloura, the team has detected the best price management involvement in illegal profiteering of Gram Dal packages of 1 Kg. and had issued notice to the management. |
