Two leaders spoil the broth for state BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: The BJP is on defensive and facing backlash for two individuals, who for their political and economic interest took Jammu for a ride and put the BJP on a back foot in the first two months of government. MoS PMO Jitendra Singh had thanked the union finance minister Arun Jaitely for setting up AIIMS in Jammu. Despite the fact, there was no official statement in this regard. The statement was carried in the media as it came from a minister, who is in the PMO, the highest and the most sensitive department in the Government of India. It gave political ammunition to the opposition parties to corner BJP, which had won huge mandate from the people of the Jammu just a few months ago. Jitendra Singh didn't issue a corrective statement rather reiterated, though there was no statement in this regard from the Central government, despite the fact that JP Nadda, who was earlier directly associated with the state unit of the BJP, is heading the health ministry. Even as this controversy had not died down, the CM correctly said that artificial lake at the Tawi is not feasible. The project was started by the Congress and it was technically faulty from the very beginning. But the then minister Taj Mohiud-din first changed the original and got it shifted near the place where he has economic interest. "The BJP is in power for about two-months and the PHE department is headed by the BJP minister. Had the BJP being a bit attentive and carefully in going through the details of the project, it had the opportunity to put the blame on the Congress than having faced the criticism from the party, which faulted on it on the first account. The BJP is learning the governance very hard way but it is denting its image," said a senior BJP leader, wishing not to be named. |
