Month on, Chiralla teshil waits for Tehsildar Truth about new administrative units 5/16/2015 11:27:49 PM Bijay Charak Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: Contrary to the tall claims of the state government of streamlining the new administrative teshil Chiralla of district Doda still awaits a Teshildar. Romesh Kumar, a sarpanch of Bhallara panchyat informed Early Times that in the previous month state government had reshuffled the administrative officer in which Teshildar Chiralla was also transferred but till date his replacement has not been sent. He further said that in absence of Teshildar, the administration of Chiralla teshil was not functioning smoothly. " I initially visit in Teshil where I found one Naib- Teshildar and Patwari (Sunil Kumar) when enquired about the other administrative officials, they replied the post of Teshildar is lying vacant and rest of others patwari are sitting in Teshil Thatri", Romesh said, adding that he was surprised by the reply of such officials. If the officers are sitting in Thatri then what's the purposes to establishing an administrative unit in Chiralla. "Newly created administrative unit in Chiralla creates confusion as there is nobody to facilitate issue of vital documents," he said, adding that many times people urge district administration to fill the vacant post of teshildar but nothing has been done at the end of district administration. "When people visits teshils, the present officials refer refer them to teshil Thatri. This drama must end now", he rued. He further said that in Teshil, a Teshildar is responsible for recovery of government dues under various acts, for preparation and maintenance of teshil revenue record and revenue accounts and also to control over the working of Patwaris and Kanungos. "Teshildar makes an inspection of patwaris and kanungos working under them but in absence of teshildar, maximum patwaris in Chirilla do not visit said teshil, and at present incharge teshildar stays away as well," he said.
