Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 16: A day after National Conference (NC) President, Dr Farooq Abdullah asked to solve re-settlement issue of Migrant Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) during his Jammu visit, Kashmiri Pandit leaders while terming his statements mere political gimmick said Abdullahs have no right to talk on KPs issue. NC Chief patron, Farooq Abdullah during his recent visit to Jammu urged all migrant including Muslims and Sikhs to sit together to chalk out a strategy for homecoming without creating further trouble. President 'Kashmiri Pandits Sangarsh Samiti' (KPSS), Sanjay Tikoo while talking to early times said that 'Abdullahs be it Farooq Abdullah or his son Omar Abdullah have no right to talk on re-settlement issue of KPs. According to him they (Abdullahs did nothing when they were in power and today when they are in opposition, nothing can be expected from them. He also criticized BJP for its silence on hoisiting of tricolor in Lal Chowk. Tikoo also criticized Farooq's statement on Amarnath yatra. Pertinently Farooq Abdullah's statement came after hardliner Separatist leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s Tral rally wherein he demanded curtailment of the yatra period. As Government plans to re-settle migrant Kashmiri Pandits in three new townships in Kashmir, separatists have opposed the government's plan and the matter is lingering. |
