Sub Jr. Hockey: Players enter into brawl; referees restore order | | | Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: Ongoing National Sub Junior Hockey Championship being played at K K Hakhu stadium Jammu today witnessed some anxious moments when players of the opponent teams entered into a violent clash over a trivial on field melee. The incident took place in a match between Chandigarh and Dadar and Nagar Haveli, when the players aggressively came into blows following a trivial on field clash. The timely intervention of the referees however dissuaded the situation and the players were penalized as per the rules of the game. Coach Hockey, Dalbir Mehta when contacted by Early Times told that the incident that happened today, started with a misunderstanding only as one of the players of Chandigarh team got hit by the hockey stick of the opponent player. He further added, "two of the players who were involved were shown Red card and ousted out by the referee". |
