AIIMS Row: BAJ to suspend work in protest on May 18 5/16/2015 11:13:34 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 16: Taking serious note regarding setting up of AIIMS in Kashmir, the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu (JKHCBAJ) decided to suspend the work in all Courts in Jammu District on May 18. The decision was taken in an emergent meeting of J&K High Court Bar Association following the chief minister made a statement to the effect that in so far as Jammu Division is concerned the District Hospitals and the Super Specialist Hospital shall be upgraded. In a meeting chaired by President JKHCBAJ, Advocate Abhinav Sharma reiterated demand for setting of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu. In the meeting, the members of the Association held the Union Govt responsible for giving step motherly treatment to people of Jammu Division once again and recalled while presenting General Budget, the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced on 28/02/2015, the setting up of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Jammu and proposed a total sum of Rs. 2206 crores for financial year 2015-16 for setting up of AIIMS in five states including the State of J&K in Jammu, how and why the decision was changed for setting up the setting of AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir ? In the meeting the members decided to call upon all the Ministers belonging to Jammu Division and also the MLA's to either force the Central Govt. to setup AIIMS at Jammu or all the Ministers and MLA should step down against the discriminating decision of the Central Govt failing which J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, supported by other organizations will not hesitate in exposing them in the public for defeating the interest and cause of the Jammu Division in order to remain in power. In the aforesaid meeting attended by other office bearers unanimously decided to abstain from work in all the Courts, Tribunal and High Court as a matter of protest on 18/05/2015 with a clear warning to Central Govt and State Govt as well the Ministers and MLA's of the Jammu Division to make public announcement for setting up of AIIMS at Jammu.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
