POONCH, May 16 : Harni zone girls made a clean sweep taking away all three titles of volleyball, kho-kho and kabaddi in under-17 category in the two-day inter-zonal sports meet of Poonch district held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here today.
In boys section, Surankote zone and Mankote zone shared volleyball and kho-kho titles respectively in under-17 category. Earlier, in girls' volleyball final, Harni zone defeated Surankote zone. Harni zone also won girls kho-kho title beating Mankote zone in the final. In kabaddi title clash, Harni zone outplayed Pooch zone. In boys section, Surankote zone beat Buffiaz zone to win volleyball final. Later, in under-17 kho-kho decider, Mankote zone defeated Harni zone. For kabaddi title, Mendhar zone beat Harni zone.
Member Legislative Council (MLC), Jhangir Hussain Mir was chief guest, who encouraged the teams. District Officer, Mohd Ayaz Khan presented vote of thanks. |
