Sports Council constituted, Krupali, Rasool, Kalra, Arun, Rashid included | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 12: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has constituted the J&K State Sports Council which was dissolved a few weeks back. The twenty nine member apex sports body includes some prominent names of Sports field including sportsmen, administrators, journalists and sports promoters. While Cricketer Parvez Rasool, Arjuna Awardee gymnast and national coach Krupali Patel Singh and Former Indian Footballer Arun Malhotra have been included in the Council for the first time, Ace Fencer Rashid Choudhary and Former state Cricketer and member BCCI Ranjit Kalra were in the previous Council as well. Kalra was also the member of the standing Committee of the Council. Former bureaucrat and cricketer Mehboob Iqbal, who has also served a term as Secretary Sports Council, has also been included amongst the members. Siddharth Sharma, joint secretary in the previous Sports Council has been retained yet again in the new council. The sports fraternity has welcomed the constitution of the Council as sports activities had taken a back seat since the dissolution of the Council. The sportspersons are particularly enthused by the inclusion of some genuine sports persons and sports promoters in the council |
