Two swindlers arrested for selling 'fake gold', 1 lakh recovered | | | Early Times Report Samba, Aug 12: Police today busted a racket of swindlers with the arrest of two persons for duping gullible innocents by luring them of 'cheap gold.' Meanwhile manhunt has been launched to nab the co-accused Parveen Singh who is still absconding with an amount of Rs. 1.4 lakhs. The fraudsters have been identified as Hassaam Din s/o Ghulam Mohd r/o Sudh Mahadev, Chenani, Udhampur and Showkat Ali s/o Said Mohd r/o Gujru, Nagrota, Jammu. According police spokesperson, "Victim Rashpal Singh s/o Palwinderjeet Singh r/o Batala, Punjab was given a lucrative offer to purchase gold on cheaper rates by one Parveen Singh s/o Fateh Singh r/o Palth, Samba who was known to the complainant." "Acting according to their plan, the fraudsters has shown original gold petal as sample to the Rashpal Singh and called him at Kapai, Nud, Samba for maturing their deal. Rashpal Singh has bought 107 gold petals from the fraudsters for an amount of Rs 2.4 lakhs but found said gold petals fake, Police said quoting complainant. Police said feeling duped of his hard earned money, he reported the matter to Police Station Samba. Accordingly a team headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Police Station Samba under the supervision of Varinder Singh, Dy SP Hqrs, Samba took cognizance. "Police team immediately swung into action and arrested above said accused alongwith Rs 1 lakh, police said , adding, "however, co-accused Parveen Singh S/O Fateh Singh R/O Palth, Samba is still absconding with an amount of Rs 1.4 lac. A case under FIR No 147/2015 u/s 420/34 RPC has been registered at P/S Samba against accused and further investigations are on in this regard. |
