ABVP hails relaxation in promotion rules for students | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: Hailing the decision of the University of Jammu (JU) for granting one time exception for this year for those students who had passed their 50% subjects/papers of theory/practical separately in Ist semester instead of the 75% required earlier for promotion from 2nd semester to 3rd semester, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also lauded JU for extending admission process for three year BA/B Sc/B Com (General) BBA, BCA/Honours Course (2015) in first semester for two more days. In a meeting of the ABVP state office bearers under the presidentship of Dr Virender Koundal, the members welcomed JU's decision for felicitating those students who could not apply for admission due to Jammu bandh or for any other reason to the three year BA/B Sc/B Com (General) BBA, BCA/Honours Course (2015) in first semester in the various affiliated courses (Summer Zone) for two days i.e. on August 17 and 18, provided they fulfill all other eligibility conditions. Koundal thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the Committee members for their personal intervention in conceding the demands of the students that is 50% criteria for admission in 3rd semester instead of 75% and extension in the admission date in the First semester. In the same vein, State ABVP simultaneously demanded that just as the relaxation in the admission criteria for the college students, it should also take the same action with regards to Post Graduate students of 3rd semester and grant one time exceptional relaxation (50%) to the PG students who could not passed their two minor and major courses (75%) either in the Ist or in 3rd semester. |
