Pak fires mortars, RPGs in civilian areas, people migrate | | | Early Times Report
Poonch , Aug 12: People have started to migrate to safer places as Pakistan started firing heavily with mortars and RPGs in civilian areas close to the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan yet again violated the ceasefire by targetting forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district. Pakistan troops this morning at around 1015 hrs fired heavily on forward posts along the Line of Control in Sabzian and Mandi areas of Poonch, defence sources here today said. "Pakistan fired 82 mm mortars, RPG and Pika ammuntion at forward posts," sources added. "Own troops retalied effectively while intermittent firing is on," they said. Last night Pakistan started unprovoked firing on the LoC in Hamirpur area of Balakote Sector of Poonch. "They fired small arms," an official here today said adding that own troops responded effectively and retaliated the firing with similar calibre weapons. Pakistan yesterday also resorted to unprovoked firing in Krishna Ghati and Bhimber Gali areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts. No injury or damage was reported in exchange of firing, he said. |
