Er Rahid's beef party has vitiated communal harmony of J&K: I C Jandial | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 9: Condemning the action of Independent MLA Er Rashid for hosting a beef party at MLA hostel in Srinagar which apparently has thrown a challenge to minorities of J&K, the former Region Chairman and Pandit President Lion's international, I C Jandial today said that the action of Er Rashid MLA has hurt the sentiments of Hindus and has vitiated the communal harmony of J&K. In a press statement issued here today, Lions international member I C Jandial stated it is no secret that both Hindu and Muslim communities have lived peacefully for ages in Kashmir valley, of course with an exception of mass exodus of Kashmiri pandit community in 1990 at start of militancy era in the valley. "We feel pity on the attitude of National conference and Congress who are hell bent upon taking on the coalition Govt without ever judging an issue on merit. Their only motto is to criticize but remember they are losing ground and sympathy by siding with such radicals directly or indirectly, he added. "By raising voice against beef party vehemently by BJP legislators in and outside the house the BJP has been able to restore its image substantially which party was mauled in AIIMS controversy but on the other hand the National conference and Congress legislators sitting or formers have downgraded themselves in the eyes of Jammu civil society by siding with Kashmir centric politicians, he added. "A time has come for civil society of Jammu to come together on a common platform to raise voice against such issues arousing communal passions and not to allow to outrage the sentiments of other communities, he said. He added that we should not allow the radicalization of Kashmir civil society any further which is bent upon hell to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of our state. |
