One month left for exams, two dozen students of MAM College in lurch | Blame it on inept college administration | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 9: Blame it on MAM College administration, nearly two dozen students are suffering, who got baffled and confused to find different subject combination in Registration Number (RR No) given by University of Jammu, while they were studying different subjects in the college. Rubbing more salt in the wounds of these gullible students, instead of rectifying their blunder, the MAM College administration has reportedly been asking the students to start attending classes of other subjects, despite the fact that only one month is left for exams. Aggrieved students of Part-I Semester-I informed Early Times that during admission process, they had chosen subjects as per the combination offered by MAM College administration. "Each student had given his preference for subject combination and accordingly got combination and started attending classes", a student said. He further said that though after one month, the University of Jammu generally gave an opportunity to students for changing of subjects but this year, the college administration offered no such opportunity to students, depriving them from this right of changing subjects. "For the last more than two months we are studying History, Political Science, Sociology and English in College but on my RR number, the subject combination is Philosophy, Education, Urdu and English. ", a student said, adding that it was impossible for them to switch over to other subject combination in no time. The students further said that as per date-sheet the exams of Semester-I were slated to start from December 1 and when the students took matter to College Principal, she instead of sorting out issue logically, she persuaded students to start attending classes of new subjects. An official of University of Jammu informed Early Times that it was the blunder committed by MAM College administration and if they had sent a request to University authorities for change of combination the problem could be solved. "The College Administration is reluctant to write to the University", the official said. He further said that the University authorities have already communicated to the MAM College authorities to send a written communique but to no avail. |
