JAMMU, Oct 9: Today when former Education Minister and JKNPP leader Harsh Dev Singh expressed shock over attitude of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh after Thursday's incident on the floor of the Legislative Assembly, his utterance against Deputy Chief Minister has raised many questions. Why Dr Nirmal Singh tendered apology on the incident in which some of his colleague MLAs had manhandled Independent legislator Engineer Rashid who had shamelessly organised beef party only to hurt sentiment of minorities? Who influenced Nirmal Singh to tender apology on the floor of the House? Why earlier Deputy Chief Minister was reluctant to tender apology?
Harsh Dev Singh while flaying the BJP for its political imbecility, expressed shock over Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh's gesture regretting the episode of commotion and his despicable apology to the felon MLA. He lamented that the former's meek stance had disparaged Dogra pride and honour, while the unholy coalition Government made the latter a hero in the Assembly by granting him the immunity to go scott free.
Credible sources in the BJP said that Dr Nirmal Singh was earlier reluctant to "say sorry" on the behaviour of his party MLAs who had allegedly attacked Engineer Rashid for organizing beef party. "A senior leader of BJP who has very high stakes in the coalition Government immediately established contact with Dr Nirmal Singh through a prominent businessman of Jammu", credible sources said and revealed that the said senior leader directed Deputy Chief Minister to immediately say sorry on the Floor of the House otherwise PDP leadership would be annoyed. The said senior BJP leader is very particular about continuation of the coalition Government because the said leader has personal stakes in the Government. Similar are the interests of the businessman who has already developed his clout in the administration. Both the senior BJP leader and the prominent businessman of Jammu convinced Dr Nirmal Singh to say sorry on the Floor of the House.
Credible sources in the BJP said that hardcore workers of the party were not happy with the way Deputy Chief Minister has tendered apology to demine his own party MLAs who felt deeply hurt after organisation of beef party in the premises of the MLA Hostel by Engineer Rashid. "Neither senior BJP leader nor the said businessman is interested to honour sentiments of the minorities in J&K, their only aim is that BJP should remain in power so that they can protect their stakes", sources said. |
