Why is Devender Rana silent on beef issue? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 9: Why is National Conference's provincial president Devender Singh Rana silent on the issue of the beef party and related events in the State? His silence is hurting his voters who voted in favour of him despite having the choice of voting on the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during 2014 Assembly elections when almost whole Jammu voted in that passion. Rana, who otherwise is very vocal against any happening in the State, seems to have adopted an unending silence over the issue. There is only one answer of his silence, which is that his bosses of Kashmir Valley will not be happy if he speaks any wrong word against the sentiments of the majority community as the main constituency of NC is Kashmir. NC wants to get its lost ground back in the Valley which has been snatched by the PDP during last elections. NC is well aware of the fact that there is not much in offering from Jammu plains, the Hindu majority belt, and few seats could be won by playing the developmental and caste card during next elections. But for them major concern is in the Valley where they want to win at any cost and for that matter if they will have put tape on the mouths of two of its Jammu MLAs, will not hurt them in long run. But Rana must be aware of this fact that people of Nagrota Assembly constituency voted for him wholeheartedly and he must not let them down at any cost. |
