Govt to develop villages having over 60% tribal population as 'model villages' | | | Early Times Report Srinagar Oct 9: Government of Jammu and Kashmir stated that the department of Tribal Affairs is proposing to introduce a new concept under Centrally Sponsored Scheme "Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) of developing of villages having more than 60% tribal population as model villages. According spokesperson, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in reply to AQ No. 531 of MLA Davinder Singh Rana stated that the department of Tribal Affairs is proposing to introduce a new concept under Centrally Sponsored Scheme "Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) of developing of villages having more than 60% tribal population as Modal Tribal Villages and in this behalf a proposal has been submitted to the ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India for approval. The reply however, stated that the approval of the ministry is still awaited in this regard. The government reply further stated that the villages will be identified only after the approval to the proposal is conveyed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs Government of India. |
