Police conducts extensive 'road checking' drive | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Nov 7: Continuing its drive against traffic law violators, the Poonch Police today carried out extensive drive to check traffic norms violations to Eidgah Chowk and realized amount of Rs.10000 and challaned 15 more vehicles. According to the police sources, the drive was conducted under the supervision of SHO Jitendra Singh Raina Poonch and the police team all type of offences/offenders were booked for action under different sections of law which included offences like driving without licenses and other valid documents, specially tractor trollies contravention of route permit, over speeding and dangerous driving with a special focus on overloaded goods and passenger vehicles. "The day long checking on various vulnerable points between Eidgah Chowk led to the release of compounded amount of Rs.10000 and 15 vehicles were challaned which is expected to add Rs 70000 more in overall fine realized, sources added. They said that during the drive 3 tractor were also seized which were allegedly running without due persimmon to ferrying the sand and crushed stones for construction of buildings. |
