| KPs decry Govt on plight of displaced people | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 7: Three KP organizations All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Sampooran Kashmir Sangathan (SKS) and National Peace Movement (NPM) have expressed grave concern over rigid attitude of the Governmentand Relief organization towards the displaced pandits from Valley.
In a joint statement issued here,today ASKPC chief, Ravinder Kumar Raina, SKS president Rakesh Koul and NPM president M K Koul alleged that the displaced Pandits are subjected to many problems and hardships by the Relief authorities.
They in an appeal to Governmentthey urged it to stop passing of draconian orders and restore the old system for issuing ration coupons failing which entire community will come to streets and protest against the Government.
They said that there is already a lot of resentment among the community as both Central and State governments are sleeping over the demands of Pandits which have compounded during last 26 years of exile.
Meanwhile Relief holders of Jagti led by Ajay Bhat and Sunil Pandita have also demanded settlement of long standing issues of inmates of Jagti township. They also demanded that ration be made available for 15 days of the month at Ration depots and monthly coupon system bewithdrawn immediately.
The KP leaders while expressing dismay over the rigid attitude of the Government towards the displaced people said that the migrants have been pushed to hardships due to callousness of the Government. They said that delay in implementation of PM package has been the cause of concern for the entire community and demanded immediate implementation of the package.
Resentment is brewing among the migrants for delaying tactics adopted in implementation of PM employment package as hundreds of the community youth are hankering for the jobs for years together.
The displaced youth have been completely ignored in government jobs for years tighter in the State except the PM's job package of 6000 announced for them way back in 2008 by then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.
Out of these 6000 jobs only 2000 displaced youth were adjusted and the rest of 4000 posts were not announced.
The greatest problem being faced by the displaced youth is double standards of the Government regarding issuance of ration coupon on monthly basis, said Virender Kuchroo BJP displaced unit general secretary.
He said when the Muslims from theValley were issued one time ration coupons why the migrants are given monthly coupons.
He said same discrimination is community facing in granting RBA certificates to migrants from RBA areas of Valley. On the one hand the migrants are not enrolled at Jammu as voters and neither they are allowed to apply for employment in Government jobs in Jammu on this pretext that they belong to Valley. But when the migrants apply for RBA certificates they have been denied the same by the Government on the plea that they are not residing in the Valley.
This is a total injustice with the displaced people said Kitchloo. |
