Cong demands job opportunities for youth in upcoming road projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: In order to exert pressure on the government to provide job opportunities to the unemeployed youth of Udhampur town in the upcoming highway projects of the state, the Congress took out a rally here. The rally organized by local Congress leader Shakeel Shah was held under the leadership of senior Congress leader and MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma. The rally after moving from the main bazars of the town culminated at the District Development Commissioner (DDC) office. While addressing the gathering, MLC Jugal Kishore said that the government should give priority to the unemployed people of Udhampur district in the upcoming highway projects as well as other private projects so that people can earn their livelihood. He demanded that government should initiate steps to promote tourism in Latti, Duddu -Basantgarh, Sudhmahadev Patnitop and other adjoining areas as well as small scale industries so that more employment can be generated for the youth. He further said that before elections Prime Minister promised to solve the matter of baridars and pujaris of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine but till date he has not even looked into the matter. Later, MLC Jugal Kishore accompanied by other local leaders also met DDC Shahid Iqbal and submitted a memorandum. Other prominent Congress leaders who addressed the rally was State president Congress Seva Dal BS Sambyal, Brij Mohan Sharma, Geeta Khajuria ,Sumeet Magotra, Arun Sharma and Yashpal Sharma. |
