SM Shishu Niketan School celebrates Diwali | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 7 : SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri, Jammu celebrated 'Diwali' with great pomp and show in the presence of Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and Staff. A special assembly was held in which the teachers gave the demonstration to the students regarding this occasion. There was Rangoli making Competition among the four different houses of the school in which the students highly participated and they were rewarded accordingly in the end. Students also lightened the Diyas and candles and were made aware about the 'Hazards of Noise Pollution' and were advised to celebrate smokeless Diwali. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Arneesh Mahajan wished all the students regarding this festival and explained that Diwali literally means "array of lights". The festival marks the triumph of good over evil. When the Diyas are lightened, their glow illuminates even the darkest of nights which signifies the enlightenment of soul. It is overcoming the darkness of ignorance and propagating the light of knowledge. |
