Pindi Club, Stadium XI in Boys' semis | Jammu District Volleyball Championship | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 7 : Pindi Club, Shastri Club and Stadium XI today qualified for the semifinals of the Jammu District Volleyball Championship, organised Volleyball Association of Jammu and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council, at MA Stadium, here. Now, in the first semifinal of the tournament, Pindi Club will be playing against Stadium XI tomorrow. In other semifinal, Shastri Club shall meet the winner of Pallanwala Club and Allah Club tie slated for tomorrow. Earlier, the 27th Jammu District Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship was declared open by Joint Secretary of the State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who was chief guest. In all, 12 teams of the district are taking part in both sections on knock-out basis. Prominent among others present included Ravi Singh, Ashok Singh ( both Managers), Vijay Magotra (general secretary), Kuldip Magotra (CEO), MS Aman (president Jammu district), HS Gill (organising secretary), RC Sharma (treasurer), Raman Gupta and OS Gill (volleyball coach) were present. Today's matches were officiated by the technical penal comprising Amarjeet Singh, Mulkh Raj, Naresh Kumar, Azhar Aziz and Akbar Ali. The Detailed Results : Boys : Stadium Club beat BSF School Paloura 2-1 (12-25, 25-23, 15-10); Shastri Club Jammu beat SRML Higher Secondary School 2-0 (25-14, 25-15); Pindi Club beat Pinto Club 2-1 (25-19, 23-25, 15-12). Girls : Trikuta Club beat APS Nagrota 2-0 (25-15, 26-24); Stadium Club beat Pinto Club Akhnoor 2-0 (25-17, 25-13). |
