| Residents from various Kotranka villages protest over 'dilapidated roads' | | | early times report
Rajouri, Nov 7: Inhabitants of Kotranka Zone including from Budhal, Kotranka, Kewal, kandi, Palma etc, the condition of Rajouri-Budhal- Reasi (Reasi district) held mass demonstration at Mandargala.
Amid slogans against the district administration and GREF authorities and demanded immediate repair of this road, the protesters warned the concerned authorities for bigger protest demonstration in future if the repairing work was not started soon.
Pertinently, few years ago the GREF has started the work on widening of Rajouri- Budhal-Reasi road and the road (upto Budhal) was damaged during this widening process. The things got from bad to worst due to flash floods in the entire district and GREF was entrusted the task to repair roads and bridges damaged on priority basis which further has delayed Rajouri-Budhal-Reasi road.
"Dilapidated and potholed road has become a inconvenience to daily commuters while overloading in the vehicles is posing danger to the innocent people, locals lamented.
Sukhpal Singh, Sub Divisional Officer (SDM), Kotranka Sub Division have called the concerned GREF officials several times and asked them to take the construction work of this road on priority basis.
"The matter has again taken up with the concerned GREF officials who have assured to complete the repair work soon," he hopefully said. |
