Jammu, Nov 7: In a much publicized Udhampur Attack case in which a Pak National Mohd Naveed alias Usman was arrested alive on August 5, Special Judge NIA Court, Y P Kotwal today extended 14 days Judicial Remand of Mohd Naveed alias Usman and three others
After hearing Spl PP for NIA, the Special Judge NIA Court extended 14 days Judicial Remand of Mohd Naveed alias Usman S/o Mohd Yaqoob R/o Kukianwala, Rafiq Colony, P.S. Ghulam Mohammed Abad, District Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat S/o Gulam Mohammed Bhat R/o Bhatpora, Chursoo, Awantipora, Pulwama, Showkat Ahmed Bhat S/o Ali Mohd Bhat R/o Village Khardermuh, PS and District Pulwama, J&K and Shabzar Ahmed Bhat S/o Abdul Rashid Bhat R/o Nai Basti, Gulshan Abad, Quimoh, Police Station, Kulgam, District Kulgam (J&K).
After perusal of the application and CD file revealing that accused Mohd Naveed alias Usman has arrested by J&K Police on 05/08/2015, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat has been arrested by NIA on 21/08/.2015, Showkat Ahmed Bhat on 02/09/2015 and accused Shabzar Ahmed on 13/10/2015 the court observed that the investigation of the case is in progress and some of the accused persons involved in the case are still absconding which is causing difficulties in unearthing the larger conspiracy behind the attack on BSF convoy. Court also observed that above mentioned accused persons were remanded to judicial custody vide order dated 26/10/2015 upto 07/11/2015 beyond the period of 90 days in case RC-08/2015/NIA/DLI of PS NIA, New Delhi for offences under section 120/120-B/121/302/307 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act, 14A of Foreigner's Act and 15/16/18/20 Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967.
"Perusal of the CD file further reveals that efforts are continued for the arrest of absconders against whom non-bail able warrants have been issued, court said.
Special Judge NIA Y P Kotwal further observed that Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case, stage of the investigation and the nature of offences involved in the case allowed the application and remanded to judicial custody for a further period of another 14 days from today i.e. upto 20th of November, 2015. Court said that accused be lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail during remand period and be produced before the competent court on the expiry of the same and medical examination of the accused be got conducted after every 48 hours.
