Rajouri, Nov 14: Police have seized 14 bags of sugar meant for the consumers of Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department during a raid on a private store in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said today. Acting on a tip-off, seven quintals of sugar packed in 14 bags meant for the CAPD department were recovered during the raid in Pangai village yesterday, the police official said. Mohammad Iqbal, the ration dealer, had hidden the sugar in a newly built house and used to sell it at high rates to some traders of the area, the official said, adding the accused however managed to escape. A case has been registered and hunt is on to nab the accused, the police official said. |
