'Don't undermine Mehbooba's authority' | | | ET Report jammu, Nov 14: The dissenting and influential voices in the PDP have been made to agree to the transition of power from Mufti Sayeed to Mehbooba Mufti, though it may not be coming for now. According to the party sources the dissenting voices notably of the Muzaffar Beigh and Tariq Hamid Qarra have been made to understand that the transition is inevitable and dissension in any form will not be of any use. "Both Beigh and Qarra have been communicated in clear terms by all the methods both by the statements and by the acts that their acts of dissension purportedly to undermine the authority of the Mehbooba Mufti are futile," said the senior leader of the party, wishing not to be named. The statement by the PDP patron and the chief minister Mufti Sayeed that it's Mehbooba Mufti who is doing the actual ground work and has level of confidence with the ground workers is reflective of the fact that it's Mehbooba who is and will be calling the shots . "Mufti Sayeed specifically, clearly and deliberately mentioned Mehbooba Mufti in her statement. Clearly mentioning who is the real leader in the party and who is to be the successor. It was clearly laid out that dissent has no meaning as far as the PDP is concerned and the next CM is to be Mehbooba," said the party leader. The CM has been gradually grooming Mehbooba for the top post of the State. She was first made to do the party work and then she was groomed to act as the party president. Mehbooba proved her mettle by travelling every nook and corner of the ground and building the party cadre, though the vision was of the Mufti Sayeed, but she did galavanise the party. "Mehbooba Mufti has proved herself to fit into the shoes of Mufti Sayeed and now its just a matter of time, so dissenting voices were natural but they have been silenced and may be shown the door also," said the leader. |
