Exam superintendent tampers attendance report | JU pays for unperformed duty | | Early Times Report jammu, Nov 14: In a shocking development, a Examination Superintendent appointed by Jammu University has allegedly tampered with the attendance report of the Supervisory staff appointed to perform various examination duties to accommodate some for payment on account of unperformed duty. A document of JU available with the Early Times revealed that Ist Semester Examination of Math was conducted in Centre No: 100, DDE Hall A on 22-1-2014 where Dr. Hina Abrol, Superintendent appointed Dr. Shubra Jamwal as Dy. Supdt. Ajeet Singh as Asstt. Supdt. Sheetal, as Supervisor, Princy Sharma as Supervisor, Jeel Lal Sharma as Supervisor. Another document which is also in possession of Early Times obtained through RTI from Asstt. Registrar (Acctts) divulged that the payment made by the Superintendent to those who performed examination duty did not match the attendance report sent by Dr. Hina Abrol to the Examination Section JU. It was found one Deepti Manchanda ,Scholar who did not at all perform examination duty was paid for exam duty deleting the name of Jeet Lal Sharma, Supervisor while submitting the bills along with fudged attendance report to the Examination Section JU. The sources told Early Times that since Jeet Lal Sharma of the clerical level was not eligible to perform the duty as Supervisor shown in the attendance sheet, the name of Deepti Manchanda, Scholar was allegedly incorporated in the attendance report subsequently furnished along with the bills to the Assistant Registrar (Acctt) for release of payment, sources informed further adding that this matter of forgery was brought to the notice of the then Controller of Examination, now holding covetous position as Registrar Jammu University, but he allegedly glossed over the matter with the attention to shield the delinquent teacher appointed as Superintendent. Had a proper probe been initiated by the JU to unearth the whole gamut of scam going on in manipulating the official record and to provide financial benefits to blue-eyed, it would have served as a deterrent for other such erring teachers, the sources told further adding that one of the very active students' organizations feeling disgruntled over the dilly-dally approach, goaded this issue of a serious nature along with other fifteen points of JU to the Central Vigilance Commission for thorough probe which is afoot at present. |
