BJP ministers spend crores on hoardings
11/15/2015 12:05:30 AM
Early Times Report
jammu, Nov 14: Virtually disconnected with the common masses due their autocratic style of functioning, BJP ministers and leaders these day depending only on big hoarding to improve their badly dented images. It is still whether this attempt of the BJP Ministers and leaders will pay back or not but one this is clear this hoarding race among "dedicated" leaders is putting huge burden on state exchequer. On an average, every day BJP ministers and leaders are putting a burden of one lakh per day on state exchequer but authorities are silent because they are daring to send bills to BJP office or to the concerned ministers.
According to a rough estimate, BJP leaders and ministers, since formation of coalition government in the state from March 1, 2015, have put hoarding which cost not less than 5 crore. But not a single penny has gone to the state exchequer. Some advertising agencies have made some payments but these agencies were accommodated by the authorities through other means.
Total burden put by BJP ministers on hoarding and advertisement is equal to the amount which is required to regularize daily wagers of different departments.
Hundreds and hundreds of poor daily wagers are struggling to even meagre wages but state government is giving excuse of financial crunch but BJP Ministers are shamelessly abusing their status to put additional burden on the state exchequer.
A senior government officer told Early Times on the condition of anonymity that it was not possible for the authorities to send hoarding bills to the BJP headquarters. "Hoarding are displayed by ministers and their touts so no officer dears to take confrontation with the ruling party so no payment for these hoarding will remain unpaid", he said and added that it was glaring example of the abuse of official status specially in the economic weak state like Jammu and Kashmir.
A senior BJP leader, who wished not to be quoted, said that party ministers are completely disconnected with the common masses because they are surrounded by power brokers and businessmen so they are going for hoarding in the city to connect themselves with people.
