| PDP tames Muzzafar Beigh, Qarra may face axe | | | Peerzada Ummer

Srinagar, Nov 14: Senior PDP leader and parliament member from north Kashmir Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has finally managed to secure a position for himself within the party while the fate of another rebel Tariq Hamid Karra continues to remain in limbo.
As both Beigh and Qarra presented themselves as rebels- expressing in open the anger against the working of their own party in the coalition government. While Beigh kept training guns against the finance minister Dr Haseeb Drabu, alleging him of showing false dreams to the people of the state, Qarra kept asking his party, PDP, to part ways from the government as no major relief has been accorded to the people of the state.
With both Qarra and Beigh showing resentment against the government that too in open, the PDP has finally managed to tame Muzzafar Hussain Beigh.
As per sources, there were series of meetings held between the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and Beigh, the differences were amicably sorted and issues resolved. During various meetings, the PDP leadership finally has taken Beigh into confidence.
It was vindicated at the time when recently, the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed termed Beigh a senior leader of the PDP while drooping Tariq Qarra.
Breaking his silence over senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh who had criticized the functioning of the government in his recent statements, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed stated that Beigh was a "respected senior leader whose who views should be heard."
"Our party (PDP) allows everybody to express their views. So has Beigh sahab done. We should listen to him," he said.
On the other hand, Tariq Qarra's fate continues to remain hanging in the balance. As he had proposed to open a parallel PDP front with Beigh who is regarded as a veteran politician, Beigh's ghar wapsi is apparently no less than a shocker for Qarra.
Reports informed that the PDP leadership has finally decided to oust Qarra from the party and the decision in this regard is expected to be announced soon. Sources divulged that due to the anti party rants that Qarra has become famous for making has led to the serious deliberations within the party leadership which has unanimously taken the decision to show Qarra the door.
Reports informed that this parliament member from Srinagar was making hectic efforts to unite the leaders who have some grudges against the party. Apart from others, he was mulling to take on board the MoS health Asiya Naqash who is Qarra's sister in law. But as Asiya refused to follow Qarra's suits , the ground of action against Qarra is getting stronger everyday after. A senior PDP leader while pleading for anonymity told Early Times that Beigh finally has been taken on board and is set to be accorded a vital responsibility in the party affairs in near future. |
