Later on he was installed as non-executive chairman of the Bakhtar Bank,Kabul,a feat that no Kashmiri has achieved so far. The candidature of Kaul alongwith his testimonials and degrees were forwarded to the Central Bank of Afghanistan(DAB Bank) for approval. The Board of Governors of the Central Bank interviewed Dalip Kaul on video conferencing and after interview approved his appointment as Director on the Board of Supervisors and Directors of Bakhtar Bank,Kabul, for a period of four years. Dalip Kaul is an independent Director on the Board of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in India. After getting clarification from the Reserve Bank of India on his appointment in October 2015, Dalip Kaul accepted the said appointment in Kabul on October 31,2015 and became the first Kashmiri from Jammu and Kashmir to be on the Board of an international Bank. Bakhtar Bank is fully owned subsidiary of Azizi Bank,Kabul. It is the third largest bank of Kabul. The Bakhtar Bank is incorporated in Afghanistan under the local laws of the country. A year ago when Dalip Kaul was appointed as Director on the Board of Directors of the Jammu and Kashmir bank it was treated as a feather in his cap. Now his appointment as Director on the Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Bakhtar Bank,Kabul, has helped Kaul to add another feather to his cap and it is treated as an honour for the Jammu and Kashmir state. Hitherto,no Kashmiri has been appointed as Director on the Board of Directors of an International Bank in Kabul. This way Kaul has given new dimensions to the profession of Chartered Accountancy and management. In fact the Bakhtar Bank shareholders opted for Dalip Kaul on the plea that his experience in banking,in accountancy and in management could prove beneficial for the growth of the Bakhtar Bank of Afghanistan. |
