Jammu, Feb 16: A Lady named Priyanka Kumari is inducted into J&K Police Services (Gazetted) after an appeal to 2nd Medical Board. As per the order copy with the appointment of Priyanka Kumari, belonging to the SLC category against one vacancy of J&K Police (G) Service, could not be made due to nonfulfillment of prescribed minimum standards of the physical measurements (chest girth) required for allocation to the Police (G) Service. Ninety nine (99) vacancies under direct recruitment quota, were referred to the J&K Public Service Commission, on 23.05.2013, for filling through Combined Competitive Examination-2013, which was cleared by Priyanka Kumari.
Taking note of the fact that Priyanka Kumari could exercise her right of appeal to the Government against the decision of the Medical Board, in terms of Note below Regulation no. 11 (Appendix-IV) of SRO- 387 dated 1.12.2008, the Public Service Commission included her name in the select list. Priyanka Kumari was informed about the deficiency in the physical standards (chest girth) coming in the way of her appointment to the J&K Police (G) Service and accordingly advised to produce evidence, if any, before the Government within a period of one month to show cause the possibility of an error of judgment in the decision of the First Board.
Priyanka Kumari vide her representation dated 22.08.2015 furnished a medical fitness certificate obtained from the Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu and found to be entitled to being referred to the second medical board for reexamination in terms of Note below Regulation 11 of Appendix IV of the J&K Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 2008, but for a minor deficiency in the medical certificate produced by her, which did not contain a note to the effect that the certificate has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for service & by the Medical Board and whereas, Ms. Priyanka Kumari furnished a revised medical fitness certificate obtained from the Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu which substantiates that the First Medical Board had erred in taking the physical measurements, resulting in her being declared as unfit for J&K Police (G) Service.
