Will Ram Madhav break the ice?

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 16: Amid continuing political stalemate in the state, the desperate Right- wing Hindu party's (BJP) point man Ram Madhav is all set to break the ice and to pave way for the government formation after assuring some confidence building measures (CBMs) to Mehbooba. He is also bringing a special message from Prime Minister Narindra Modi, top BJP sources said.
On Monday, in New Delhi, the BJP president Amit Shah however, authorized the party's general secretary Ram Madhav to fly to Jammu and Kashmir and finalize government formation arrangements with Mehbooba Mufti, and to end the uncertainty over government formation.
Ram Madhav, who had played a key role in forming the alliance with PDP last year, after the BJP's much hyped cry for 44+ resulted in only 25 seats, will make fresh efforts to break the impasse with Mehbooba over government formation following the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
However, Mehbooba Mufti, after being authorized by her party's core group to take a final call on government formation has clearly said that her party wants an assurance about the implementation of the agenda of alliance not from the BJP but from the Central government.
Notably, State BJP leaders said the alliance with the PDP had been formed for six years and the party was largely in favour of continuing it for the whole period. Now, it has become the challenge for Ram Madhav, Will he be able to bring the both coalition partners together once again, as he did it earlier?
BJP party Insider said that "the BJP has sought 10 days from Governor NN Vohra to resolve some issues pertaining to government formation with its ally Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We have formed the Agenda of Alliance before the government formation; I fail to understand, what new things PDP wants to add on AoA," he said.
Recently, our top leaders of state like state BJP president Sat Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma met the Governor to apprise him of its positions with regard to government formation.
"The coalition was formed after great understanding between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with a great vision for Jammu and Kashmir. If the latter would have been alive today, both parties would have jointly introspected on the one-year tenure vis-à-vis the 'Agenda of Alliance' and its further implementation in the state," patry insider said.
However, Peoples Democratic Parties President, Mehbooba Mufti, continues to delay her decision on government formation in the State after the death of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Jan 07 this year.
