JAMMU, Mar 1: National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), today organized workshop for teachers on 'life science' using Vermi-compost as base (Wealth from Waste) here at Pace Computers, Samba. Later on Jawaid Alam, Resource Person from Patna, Bihar accompanied by Naranjan performed various "hands on Activities" on making best utilization of non biodegradable Wastes/refuses which were collected by the participants on the previous day, such as plastic bottles, tin container, fused bulbs, fused tubes, thermocol container, waste drip set and many more. Dr.Ashiq Hussain of Govt. Degree College Kishtwar and Kuldeep Gupta, were the other resource persons who helped the participants of the workshop in shaping the material for various activities during the second day of the workshop. Earlier Deedar Singh a reputed educationist and environmentalist of Samba also joined the workshop and briefed the participants about the alarming increase of Carbon Dioxide concentration in the atmosphere and the viable threat to the environment for safe survival. He in his address thanked Zaffar Ullah Khan the Secretary NCURDS for organizing such a wonderful workshop for the teachers of Samba District and stressed the participants to reap maximum from the workshop so as to implement the technique in real sprit on the ground after the workshop. |
