GAD files report on status of departmental action | Alleged hushing up of RDA scam by SVO | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 14: The general administration department (GAD) has filed a status report before a high court division bench pursuant to the March 2, 2016 HC directions in a PIL alleging hushing up of Rajouri Development Authority (RDA) scam wherein SVO was said to have recommended regular departmental action against the 'delinquent' public servants. The allegedly delinquent public servants included then RDA CEO (chief executive officer) Mohammad Javed Khan (IAS), then executive engineers -- Khushal Chand and Devi Dass Heer - and JE Gurcharan Singh. The GAD status report revealed that SVO vide its No VO-Veri-PR-31/2009-8497-98 of June 10, 2015 and vide No VO-Veri-PR-13/2009-9835-36 of July 3, 2015 had recommended departmental action against Javed Khan, Khushal, Heer and Gurcharan. It says that GAD, in turn, referred the matter to the concerned administrative department, ie commissioner, tourism department. It was also submitted that GAD had issued several communications to the tourism department for taking action as per the SVO recommendations. The last reminder to tourism department was issued on March 3, 2016 for ascertaining the latest status of the regular departmental action against the delinquent public servants. Today, SVO also filed its reply to the fresh miscellaneous application moved by the petitioner, seeking setting aside of communication No VO-Veri-PR-13/ 2009-9835-36 of July 3, 2015 whereby SVO, after determining a loss of Rs 1,93,915 to the state exchequer, had not registered the FIR and recommended departmental action against the public servants. Then CEO's counsel also filed reply on behalf. After hearing the two sides, the bench directed to list PIL on April 4, 2016 and allowed time to the counsel for then CEO to file his response to the petitioner's application. -(JNF) |
