GoI sanctions CRF projects worth Rs 800 cr,doesn't release funds | Dev works stopped for want of funds | | Arun Singh ET Report JAMMU, Mar 14: Unlike its previous practice, the Central Government this year sanctioned abundant projects under Central Road Funds (CRF) worth Rs 800 crore to J&K, but it has not released funds till date. Sources told Early Times that in the past the State Government used to send CRF projects amounting several hundred crores to the Centre for its approval but few projects were sanctioned. "But this time the Centre sanctioned Rs 800 crore of CRF projects for the State. The allocation of the projects was like this: Rs 400 cr for Jammu region, Rs 300 crore for Kashmir region and Rs 100 cr for Ladakh. The Centre however is yet to release any fund in this regard, hence delaying the execution of the projects. Sources said that already more than 100 CRF projects are underway across the State and the work over Rs 200 crore have been executed till date but no money has been received. They alleged that mere sanction of CRF projects that too of such huge amount and without release of funds was just eyewash. They said the Centre used to release less than Rs 150 crore of funds every year but this time even 50% of the funds have not been released to the State under CRF. |
