Anantnag, Mar 14: Pranhal village of this southern district is in grief as double tragedy struck a family on Monday.
One member of the family was allegedly murdered while another died due to heart attack when she was watching postmortem examination that was being done by the doctors in open at District Hospital Kulgam.
According police, Irshad Hussain (30) son-in-Law of Abdul Rashid Padder, a teacher by profession, was found dead in an orchard in Mirhama area of Kulgam.
Family of the deceased, who accused his in-laws told Early Times, "It is case of demostic violence, He (Irshad Hussain) was murdered by in-laws,"
"Yesterday at around 10:00pm we tried to contact slain over phone but he didn't respond. I suspected something wrong was going with him (victim). I along with other villagers reached Mirhama at around 2:00 am and enquired about him from his in-laws who tried to dodge us, however we searched him till morning and lastly found him hanging in an orchard in the same village," Father of the slain told media.
At a time when family was waiting for the body of the murdered teacher at District Hospital Kulgam, horrific development took place. Cousin of the slain-Nisara Akhtar - suffered a heart attack when she was watching postmortem examination according to eye-witnesses.
They said that a team of doctors was doing Autopsy on the body in open, behind the hospital building and deceased lady was watching the process through a hospital window when she suffered heart attack and died on the spot.
However, Medical Superintend District Hospital Kulgam denied such claims and said that deceased lady was brought dead in the hospital.
"She suffered heart attack at her residence and was brought dead in hospital," Dr Rafiq told Early Times.
Meanwhile, locals have expressed anguish after coming to know that doctors are carrying out postmortem examination in open and hospital lacks Autopsy center. "Autopsy center should be made operational to avoid such horrific incidents," residents demanding action against careless Medical superintendent, said.
