Low voltage irks Udhampur villagers 3/14/2016 10:40:06 PM Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report Udhampur, Mar 14: The hardship currently witnessed by the people of several wards and villages across the district took a turn for the worse in Udhampur in the last couple of days as the Power Development Department(P.D.D) have shown least concern over the low voltage and reduced the power supply for several hours. It has been observed that over a month, the power situation in town took a turn for the worse, with households having to grapple with exorbitant electricity bills despite the absence of electricity. The residents of the ward no 11 ,rount and shiv nagar told to early times we have faced the worst due to low and reduction in the power supply , a local resident arun kumar while sharing his pain he said most of the residents here belong to lower middle class families so cannot afford personal transformers and inverters at home so it's gets very difficult for the children's to study as their exam times are near which is an important issue to be resolved we have complained many a time before to the concerned authorities but all seemed to be in shambles he added . The fluctuation and the irregular power supply has disturbed almost all of our electronic appliances ,burdening on our pockets told another resident veena devi as the appliances are daily needs of the kitchen for keeping consumable items preserved but due to low voltage and irregular power supply some days earlier or before needed maintaince disturbing our budget she added . By pitching the tone on high volume the residents of the wards and the villages has warned the adminstration to resolve the problem soon else they will be forced to walk down to the roads . While speaking to Xen PDD Jarnail Singh over the matter he assured that the problem will be resolved soon as they are working over the matter and soon they will connect a other phase to the areas complaing low voltage and the cut has been made by the grid may be due to overload on some phases,the private company which has tendered for the installation of transformers and fixing up the cables has almost installed aproxx 150 transformers which will be activated .   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
