Inter-department sports meet begins at JU 3/14/2016 11:34:39 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 14 : Annual inter-department sports meet of University of Jammu in different events, organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, got underway on the campus, here today. The opening day witnessed preliminary round of the competitions in badminton and carom in both men and women section while two matches were played in men's cricket. In cricket, Department of Physical Education registered an absolute nine wickets win against Department of Dogri beating latter by nine wickets. In other match of the day, Department of Mathematics defeated Department of Commerce by 48 runs. Earlier, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau encouraged the participants amidst interaction with the teams playing the opening round of the competition. Among others present were Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, P.D Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Amit Sharma. ICCCR- HRM combine beat Zoology 2-0: Anita Singh beat Farahat 21-10. Doubles: Anita and Ravleen beat Divya and Sameeta 21-07. MEN: MCA Department beat Chemistry 2-0: Rakesh beat Charanjeet Singh 21-09. Doubles: Parveen Singh and Goutam Sharma beat Sumit and Ravi 21-10. Economics Department beat Psychology 2-1: Sahil beat Harpreet 21-18. Doubles: Sahil and Vishal beat Harpreet and Baljeet 22-20. CARROM: WOMEN: ICCCR and HRM beat Psychology 2-0: Department of Economics beat Commerce 2-0; Department of Education beat Physical Education 2-1.
