AVTAR team arrest one, recovers country made Pistol, counterfeit currency, Charas | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 14: In order to curb the menace of motor vehicle theft in Jammu District a special anti vehicle theft and recovery team (AVTAR) constituted by Dr Sunil Gupta IPS, SSP Jammu, today apprehend a person and recovered one Country made Pistol, fake Currency worth Rs 15,600/- and 130 gms of Charas from his possession. Police said, "The accused has been identified as Parveen Sharma s/o Mohan Lal Sharma of Sec-1-A, Extn. Trikuta Nagra, Jammu." According to police spokesperson, on specific input, the newly constituted AVTAR team laid a special naka near Nai Basti. "During naka checking one I-10 car without registration number was signaled for checking but on seeing naka party the driver of the car tried to run away from the spot but was chased/caught by the Police Party, police spokesperson said. Spokesperson said, "The driver of the car during questioning disclosed his name as Parveen Sharma and on checking of vehicle one Country made Pistol, fake Currency worth Rs. 15,600/- and 130 Gms of Charas recovered from his car. During questioning the driver deposed that he is a property dealer by profession and addict drug peddler.
