Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 27: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has issued directions on a Public Interest Litigation seeking announcements at airports of Jammu and Kashmir in regional languages. The court's directive came on a PIL, stating that discrimination was being meted out to Jammu and Kashmir's regional languages namely 'Dogri', 'Kashmiri' and 'Bhoti' as far as announcements at Airports in regional languages besides in Hindi and English are concerned. A division bench of J&K High Court, comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan yesterday directed the Civil Aviation Ministry that the representation seeking the direction is pending. It further observed that without expressing anything on merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to consider the representation filed on December 7, and take a decision and communicate the same within a period of three months from the date of issuance of an order. |
