SUMIT SHARMA Early Times Report Jammu, Mar: The alleged illegal constructions along Chowadhi-Sainik Colony nullah have become battle field between Revenue and Vigilance Organization with the former complaining pressure on it to tamper the report of the DC. The matter has now landed in the court of Anti Corruption. The Revenue department took serious note after Vigilance Department made a bid to clip the wings of the Director Land Records and Survey Shavan Kumar. State Vigilance Organization (SVO), sought explanation from the Director Land Records and Survey as to how he entered into the residence of the DySP Shashi Thakur for measuring land within boundary wall of her residence. However, Director Land Records and Survey Shavan Kumar when contacted said, " Since he was entrusted with the responsibility of demarcation of land in question, therefore it was his duty to measure the areas ( Gair Mumkin Khad) to know who has encroached government land and how much" Pertinently, the demarcation of land along Chowadhi-Sainik Colony Nullah started taking place after Shashi Thakur,DySP, had lodged complaint with the court that one Ashiq Hussain son of Qasim Din of Chatta, presently, Uttam Nagar, Gangyal had been encroaching nullah along the Chowadhi- Sainik Colony near Sharma Resorts, falling under Khasra No 887, with the active connivance of Revenue and Police officials. She also lodged complaint with the Chief Minister's Secretariat following which an interim report was sought from the GAD and Commissioner of Vigilance. During the due course of time, three time demarcation of land in question was held by revenue department. Earlier also, succumbing to the pressure from Vigilance for demarcation, then DC Jammu Ajit Kumar Sahu in his report to court had said that Vigilance was pressurizing Revenue department to give biased report, reason best known to the Vigilance sleuths. Meanwhile, the revenue's recent demarcation report has been tabled to DC Jammu Simrandeep Singh to produce the same to the court of Anti Corruption on 16 April. |
