Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 27: In a major political development, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is all set to offer some key portfolios including Finance Ministry to senior party leader and Member Parliament Tariq Hameed Karra.
It is pertinent to mention here that Karra has been at logger heads with party over forging alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in March last year. His continuous statements against his party took everyone including opposition parties by surprise while speculations were rife that he may quit PDP and join some other regional party.
If top PDP sources are to be believed Karra who contested 2014 Parliament elections against National Conference Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah will be joining state politics after PDP president takes oath as new Chief Minister of the state.
The decision however, may not go well with former Finance Minister and economist Haseeb Drabu who has been playing vital role to coalesce BJP and PDP from the beginning.
"Yes the decision is bit difficult, and may disappoint Drabu however there might be some other key portfolio for him in party's kitty, this cannot be ruled out that Drabu played important role in government formation but Karra too cannot be ignored," Sources told 'Early Time's.
They said that the stalemate of over two months in government formation forced PDP President to think over these sensitive issues which might create ambiguity within the party.
Both the leaders Tariq Hameed Karra and PDP Vice-President, Muzzafar Hussain Beigh were intentional to join state politics as both left no moment spared to take even former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed head on for shaking hands with Sangh Parivar.
Time has once again proved experts rights that the two leaders 'hullaballoo' created over alliance with BJP was politically motivated to get back into state politics.
Sources also said that it is yet to be decided as to when re-polls in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency will be held and who would be the new contestant from PDP.
"What we knew we share that, rest it is to be decided by the party President that who is going to contest from Srinagar and when re-elections will be conducted,'' sources said.
