Mendhar, Mar 27 : Over 174 kanals of state land, which falls under khasra Nos 1061 and 1396, is alleged to have been encroached upon by some people near the government higher secondary school here. 107 kanals 10 marlas of state land was allegedly encroached under khasra no 1061 and 66 kanals 11 marla under khasra No 1396 by some locals, according to official sources. Some people had raised temporary structures while others were in the process of raising houses and other structures, sources said. The encroachements could not be made with the support of revenue officials, sources alleged.
The matter was brought to the notice of naib-tehsildar Aftab Hussain by Gohlad residents - retired master Hidayat Ullah and Azim Kazmi. The naib-tehsildar shot off a letter the Mendhar SHO to stop 'illegal' constructions and asked the concerned patwari to take action. No construction would be allowed on the state land, Aftab said.
SDM Sher Singh said no one would be allowed to encroach the state land. The order to stop constructions on it had been isuued and action would be initiated against the concerned revenue officials, he added. |
