Jammu, Mar 27: Confused over mysterious moves of PDP supremo Mehbooba Mufti notwithstanding her staking claim for Government formation in alliance with Bhartiya Janta Party, the speculations are agog over the size of future Council of Ministry.
According to the highly placed sources, Mehbooba Mufti has decided to have a very small ministry with only two Cabinet ministers from her party keeping the other aspirants running before her for their turn in future expansion and thus establishing a complete control on the party.
She is also learnt to have conveyed this to the Governor N N Vohra, during her second meeting with him last evening even as there was no official word over the same. In the meeting, sources said that Mehbooba also hint the Governor that she would take oath on April 4 after her return from Kashmir Valley.
However, before approaching the Governor and deciding to have a small ministry, Mehbooba did not take the alliance partner BJP in confidence with the result that the saffron party is left with only guess work as no leader of the party is aware of the developments in this regard.
Since the State unit leaders, including the State president Sat Sharma and the BJP Leader of Legislature Party, Dr Nirmal Singh are also in dark over the mysterious moves of Mehbooba Mufti, sources said that the possible condition of small ministry may be objected by the alliance partner.
The confused BJP leaders are secretly discussing the mysterious moves of Mehbooba Mufti but no one has guts to seek a clarification in this regard from the PDP chief as well as the party high command, sources added. |
