Jammu, Mar 27: Extending undue favour to the blue eyed of a politician, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu authorities have relocated medical shop in the premises of GMC&H as well as associated hospitals also to a better and preferred locations.
Pertinently, Early Times on March 22, 2016 had highlighted the issue in its report titled 'Influential eyeing prime location in GMC to set up shop' and highlighted that influential person was pressurizing administration to provide prime location, to his medical shop within the hospital premises.
"There is totally mess in GMC&H Jammu, some officials are working on the directions of a politician and leaving no stone unturned to appease him by showing thumbs to rule and regulations, "a senior official told Early Times, wishing anonymity.
He further alleged that after dismantling a private medical shop at GMC&H Jammu, a committee was formed to identify spaces to establish the shops in GMC&H and associate hospitals. This committee identified spots at GMC&H near Police post, in Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) hospital near J&K Bank and Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) near entrance but the space in GMC&H and other hospitals was not liked by the influential persons and they approached a politician to allocate them spots of their choice in hospitals.
"On holiday (Good Friday), higher ups and those loyal to politician asked concerned authority to relocate the blue eyed to the spots of their choice," he alleged, adding now new space has been identified in GMC&H near a canteen, in basement at SSH near cafeteria and a plan is being chalked out to relocate them in SMGS hospital.
He asked why they identified new space whereas the same committee had already identified space?. He alleged that the higher ups in Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department turned blind eye toward mess which prevailed at GMC&H as well as least bother to ask concern authority, who are fulfilling their wishes.
