Doda, Mar 27: The All 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Form, from different parts of the Chenab valley led by President of the association assembled in Doda and took to streets. The protesting Lecturers were raising slogans against former education minister Nayeem Akhtar, Commissioner Secretary Education and Director School Education.
The speakers expressed deep resentment against the Government for ignoring the aspirations of 10+2 contractual lecturers working in different institutions across the State. They said that many educated youth are working as contractual lecturers in 10+2 institutions across Jammu and Kashmir State since 1998 and during the period of their services some of them have crossed the upper age limit required for the Government services and some are on the verge of it. They said that upto 2003, they were appointed on academic arrangement basis vide different Government orders.
In July 2003, on the eve of upgradation of schools, Government framed a policy for the regularization of their services after rendering three years of service vide Government order No. 1301 Edu of 2003 dated 31-07-2003, but the Govt modified the order No. 1301 vide Govt. order No 1584 Edu of 2003 dated 21-10-2003 in which it is mentioned that academic arrangement is up to April 2004 and in future all such arrangements will be made on contractual basis and that order was endorsed to the GAD, Director School Education Jammu/Srinagar, all the CEOs and Principals of the schools. |
