| Car thief held, 8 stolen vehicles recovered | | |

Srinagar, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a thief and recovered eight vehicles , including cars in summer capital Srinagar, a police spokesman said here this evening.
He said acting on specific information, a police party of Police Station Batamaloo apprehended a notorious car thief Bashir Ahmad Sheikh alias Bashir Nindra, resident of Chari-Sharief Budgam.
During investigation, it surfaced that he had stolen two vehicles from Batamaloo and Karan Nagar area of district Srinagar and other six vehicles from district Anantnag.
Bashir Ahmad had changed number plates of all these vehicles; however there seems no tampering in engine and chassis numbers |
