Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Mar 27: Nearly 100 kilograms of banned polythene bags were today seized by a joint team of police and excise department from a vehicle at Lower Munda toll post, Banihal. Official sources said a joint team of excise department and cops from police post, Jawahar Tunnel, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No JK01X- 6717, which was on its way to Jammu, at around 6.50 am at Lower Munda toll post. During checking of the vehicle, the team members recovered four bags of banned polythene weighing around 100 kg. "The bags are manufactured by G G company India under brand name Excel and Classic Poly Pack under brand name Classic Gold," sources claimed. Police have detained the vehicle driver and seized the consignment. Another naka, led by excise range Inspector Bilal Kraipak, intercepted vehicles bearing registration No JK03A-8290, JK02T-9845, JK02BN-9785 and JK18A-1018 and penalized them for tax evasion. A fine of Rs 21,300 was realised from them. |
