KATRA, Mar 27 : Katra-Mumbai Swaraj express derailed at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Railway Station Katra on Friday, while it was being taken to the yard.
Sources divulged that soon after its arrival, the Swaraj Express while moving towards the Yard for maintainence as well as washing, got derailed but no causality was reported making the railways personnel to grapple for hours together to bring the derailed train back on track.
Eye Witnesses said that 4 of the 6 wheels of a bogie of the train got derailed at about 8 pm and was brought back on the next day at about 4:15 am.
Sources also said that the authorities grappled for the hours but failed to bring the train back on track. They added that the authorities have called on a hydraulic jack engine from Railway station Jammu to bring the train back on the track and after few hours the bogie was brought on the track at early morning about 4:00 am.
The train is not totally off, but it's not on the tracks," said an official of Railways. Moreover he added that no loss or casualty was reported and the bogie was brought back on the track later, he again added. |
